Dr. James Jinxing Wang, M.D., Ph.D.
Dr. Wang, Wesley Neurology Clinics current president, earned a M.D. at Wei Fang Medical College and a M.S. from Beijing Medical University. Dr. Wang attended the University of South Alabamas Department of Pharmacology in Mobile, AL where he was also a research assistant and earned his Ph.D. from the University of Tennessee Department of Pharmacology and Center for Neurosciences. He completed an internship with PGY-1: Internal Medicine at the University of Tennessee and a three-year residency with the University of Tennessees Neurology Department before joining Wesley Neurology Clinic in 1999. In addition to his work with the clinic, Dr. Wang is also a clinical neurologist at Methodist University Hospital, Assistant Professor for the Department of Neurology at the University of Tennessee, and the Medical Director of the Methodist Stroke Center. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Currently, Dr. Wangs activities include being Associate Editor of the journal Discovery Medicine and teaching medical students and resident. Dr. Wang is extensively involved in research. He is leading five different stroke clinical trials as Principal Investigator and undertaking clinical stroke research sponsored by the Methodist Foundation. Dr. Wang is a repeat presenter at the Tian Tan International Stroke Conference and has published work in Discovery Medicine and Molecular and Cellular Endocrinology.
Dr. Wangs honors include being named a guest professor of Wei Fang Medical College and Beijing University and invited to speak at the 5th International Neuropeptide Y Conference in Grand Cayman Island. While a resident, Dr. Wang received recognition from the American Academy of Neurology and the American Neurological Association. He is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Neurology, the American Heart Association, and the Tennessee Medical Association.
